Linux is the most powerful operating system ever built. It runs the servers that power the internet, the phones in people's pockets, and the satellites above our heads. And yet, for too many people, it remains unapproachable — a system that rewards years of memorisation over genuine capability.
We believe that is the wrong trade-off. The power of Linux should not be locked behind arcane syntax and decades of accumulated tribal knowledge. And for those who do have that knowledge, their tools should make them dramatically faster — not just marginally more convenient.
So we build two kinds of software: tools that open the door wider for newcomers, and tools that give experienced Linux users genuine superpowers.
Our fundamental goal is to build server-side and personal-use bash and UI software for Linux — tools that serve the newcomer who just switched from Windows, and the senior SRE managing fifty production servers. Both deserve excellent software.

Someone who chose Linux — or had to use it — and finds the command line intimidating. They know what they want to do but not how to say it in bash. They Google every command. They are afraid of breaking things.
A senior developer or SRE who lives in the terminal. They know every flag, every tool, every workaround. They have spent years building muscle memory — and they resent wasting a single keystroke on something that could be automated.
Petacomm was founded in Istanbul, Turkey — a city at the crossroads of two continents, two cultures, and centuries of engineering tradition. We think the best software comes from people who understand both worlds: the global developer community and the very specific, very real needs of the people using the tools.

Every line of code we write is public. Our roadmap is on GitHub. Our security advisories are disclosed within 24 hours of confirmation. Our pricing has no hidden tiers.
We make money by offering enterprise support, priority patching and custom tooling to organisations that need it. We will never put core features behind a paywall. The tools that individuals and small teams need to be productive will always be free.
